Weigh-In Wednesday

I took that pound back off this week. I was much more motivated in the food department because of my slip up last week.

I am finding it soooo much easier to choose fruit or veggies as a snack rather then crackers, chips, or cheese. I am also finding that I feel not so great if I choose unhealthy food. I am hoping that this means my body (and mind) have turned a corner and the weight will go back to coming off 1 pound a week.

Colin found a picture the other day of us when we were 21 and I realized that my face was so much cuter without all the extra "fluff" on it. I just had to tell myself that I am slowly working my way back!

53 lbs to go.

2011 Rewind - Part 1: Colin's Birthday

One of the things I have learned about having two babies at once is that some things fall through the cracks. In my world that means a lot of things. There were several posts (8, in fact) that I had intended to put on my blog and time has just gotten away from me. So, in an effort to catch up I am going to go back in time an update you on some important things that have happened this year!

Colin's Birthday
On March 18th Colin turned 28! I was able to pull off a surprise dinner date and it was fun to be together without the kids. There are so many things I love about my sweet husband and I have tried to compile a list:

1. He is always glad to see me and the kids.
2. He will gratefully eat anything I put in front of him.
3. He has a tender heart and wants to be my emotional support.
4. He has a super cute smile and his eyes light up when he laughs really hard!
5. He has worked VERY hard to have a career as a firefighter and takes pride in being a wonderful provider for his family.
6. He finds the dumb things I say amusing.
7. He is a talented musician and song writer and the kids love to hear him play and sing.
8. He strives every day to be a better father and husband then he was the day before.
9. Nobody grills chicken better then he does. He also makes great salsa!
10. He is my favorite companion. There is no one else I would rather spend time with and often when we are apart I find myself wishing he was with me so we could laugh together at something funny.

Colin, I love you with all my heart and am so proud to be your wife. I am so thankful for the man that you are!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Well, the scale said I put one of those hard fought pounds back on this week. I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

I only exercised one day and was not so great about portion control and it definitely showed in little black numbers.

Luckily my sweet husband bought me new running shoes for our anniversary last week so I have no more excuses. I am committing to running every day in the coming week that Colin is not at the fire house. Maybe that will take this pound back off by next Wednesday.

54 lbs to go.

Stuff

The boys had eggs for the first time two mornings ago. They loved them! Jude now has 4 teeth and Cort has two with two more probably arriving in about 2 days. They are starting to discover more foods and I can't wait to say "so long" to baby food!

Why do boys like electronics soooo much? C&J can't get enough chew time on remotes!

Of course once Jude discovered I was taking pictures it was on to investigating this new electronic device!

Sleeping Habits

A couple of nights ago I went to check on the kids before Colin and I got into bed and this is what I found in Zoe Scout's room.

She had emptied her tub of stuffed animals and had made a bed out of it. She very rarely goes to sleep in her bed. It always seems that she has some great idea for a pallet, tent, cubbie, or clubhouse that will do much better then an actual bed.

Most nights we just put her in the bed before we go to bed. She seems to have a fantastic imagination and good construction abilities.

She also drags this quilt around the house with her all day. My aunt and uncle made it for her and she loves it. It is a miniature version of the one that they made for us that we also sleep with.

Here is Colin and Jude playing some sort of bouncy game that turned into hilarity. I don't know if the noises Jude is making is out of amusement or pain but it is all funny.

Not to be outdone by his brother, here are some sweet pics of Cort. We have started calling him "the explorer" because he is always in search of something fun to do.

Thankful Paper

One morning last week Zoe Scout got up and decided that she wanted to make a "Thankful Paper" She gathered her markers and started to draw things she was thankful for. It was so sweet and it was precious time that I am thankful for.

She wrote her own name at the top and then I wrote all the other things. She is quite the artist, I think!

When Colin is at the fire house I let Zoe Scout sleep with me. I like to have someone else in the bed since it is hard for me to sleep alone. Of course she goes to bed several hours before I do so often I have to rearrange her and the sheets when it is my bed time. This particular night I went in and she was no where to be found so I turned on the closet light and saw her arms sticking out of the covers.......

Her face was actually totally covered by the khaki pillow but I moved it for the photo. I was laughing so hard that I am surprised she didn't wake up. I was able to save her from drowning in a lake of pillows (there were 8 on top of her) and I went to bed thanking God for these type of moments which make me belly laugh!

Weigh-In Wednesday

One of the best things about summer is fruit. I went crazy at the store this week on the sweet stuff.

Since I have tried my best to cut out things like ice cream, pies, cookies, etc. I have been consuming more fruit and yogurt. I am finding that I am not craving fruit more often then saltier foods which is my norm.

I feel like I did much better this week with both exercise and diet. It is still sometimes frustrating to reach for a water bottle when I would much rather have a Sonic vanilla Dr. Pepper or a Chick-Fil-A sweet tea but overall it seems to finally be getting easier and I try to remember that one good decision can lead to other good decisions.

The only way summer fruit could be better is if I could wear it on my feet!
One more pound lost this week.

53 lbs to go!

Weigh-In Wednesday

I lost one more pound this week. I did much better in the drink department. I am trying to not consume calories in what I drink which helps me to drink a lot more water!

I still wish the weight was coming off faster even though I know I am actually on a good pace.

53 lbs to go.
